Season 3 of Doom Patrol Gets Confirmed

Popular HBO show ‘Doom Patrol’ has been renewed for the next season, and the 3rd installment will air on HBO Max.

DC superhero adventure series ‘Doom Patrol’ starring Diane Guerrero and Matt Bomer isn’t done yet and will return for its third iteration not later than next year, i.e., in 2021.

Jeremy Carver, who has executive produced the preceding two seasons, enthused on behalf of the entire production team about returning for the third time and expressed gratitude to all the production houses and streaming giant HBO for this opportunity to relay the next part of the story.

The live-action drama, originally planned exclusively for DC universe, was streamed on DC’s online platform in February of last year. The second season was developed and streamed for the subscribers of both DC Universe and HBO Max. The second season was simultaneously premiered on both the platforms on June the 25th, 2020.

Sarah Aubrey, head of the original content on HBO Max, was all praise for the DC series as she said that it came as a series that already had its fans, and then it expanded itself as one of the most-watched originals at HBO Max. Aubrey also remarked in her statement that the series perfectly fits into the standards that streaming giants have created for their portfolio and expressed her pleasure in teaming up with DC Universe to continue the unique story of DC superheroes that has a special place in the hearts of fans and critics.

The ensemble cast of eccentric superhero series contains some stellar names of television superstars that include Brendan Fraser of The Mummy fame, who plays the character, Cliff Steele, Matt Bomer ( also known for the roles in The Sinner, and Broadway show The Boys in the Band) who plays the role of Negative Man, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, and Joivan Wade who plays the character Cyborg (a character which was also seen in the mainstream cinema Justice League).

The second installment saw the strange group save the world while also facing the feelings of betrayal (courtesy of Timothy Dalton’s Niles Caulder, also known as the Chief, character). The major part of the series explored the character Dorothy Spinner (played by Abigail Shapiro), her superpowers, and her inner demons.

The production work of Doom Patrol is spearheaded by Berlanti Productions, which is partnered with mighty Warner Bros. Television. The likes of Greg Berlanti, Chris Dingess, Geoff Johns, Carver, and Sarah Schechter executive produce the show.

The live-action story is based on the DC Comics character created by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, and Bruno Premiani.

Both the seasons of the show have scored high scores on the websites like Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and IGN while also garnering applause from critics and fans alike.

Bomer had an exciting 2020 amid the fact that pandemic has ripped through the industries. He will star in the upcoming film The Boys in the Band, which is an adaptation of Broadway’s musical show of the same name. He also played a negative role in the third season of the Netflix show The Sinner, in which he played the eccentric character Jamie who is on the hinges of psychopathic insanity.
